A downloadable game

Play as a part of Barry and Larry's fire fighting team, where you pump water, extend ladders and extinguish fires buying upgrades along the way to improve your fire fighting abilities!

This game has been created for the Playdate games console, utilising it's unique features such as the crank, throughout an internship at Manchester Metropolitan University wherein I formulated and programmed this game, having weekly meetings with projects overseers to ensure development was going smoothly.  You can find the YouTube series of me creating Fire Team here

Controls:

A button - shoot water
B button - toggles the ladders
Crank - fills up water | when using ladders winds or unwinds the ladders
DPAD - Controls aim cursor

Hi, that’s a good looking game! I added a sideload and can’t wait to try it out! Congrats on the release!

I’m writing right now because a few friends had a problem with installing the game via the sideload page on Playdate website (we discussed it in the Playdate Squad discord server). It’s especially hard for people who upload the zipped file from mobile devices where archive/unarchive functionality is hard to find or even inaccessible.

To make it easier, you can zip just the FireTeam.pdx folder and post it standalone. I checked that your metadata in pdxinfo is correct and the game it uploads nicely. (You can include the readme inside the pdx, if you want to.)

Also, the USB method of sideloading is mostly intended for developers (most players don’t have SDK installed), so I’d recommend to post a how to about web sideloading.

hi thanks for the comment! I have added a fireteam.pdx.zip so hopefully that works (if you could test it I would really appreciate it as I no longer have access to the play date o used to develop the game).

Thanks for the insight on sideloading as a player, I’ve only done it through development so I’ll check it out and update the page in the morning!

Once again, thank you for the comment and feedback, I really appreciate it! :p

Thanks for such a quick reply and fix!

If you have any other issues or suggestions just let me know! :)

Could not find a top-level .pdx file.

Hi, did you unzip the archive and select the "Fire Team.pdx" file?

Ah yes, that worked! You'll probably should offer the zip without the extra zip layer, then people do't have to unzip it to sideload. Curious about your game, looks fun!

The bundleID field is missing from pdxinfo

hi fixed this, let me know if anything still doesn’t work :)

I just had the same issue today.

Should be fixed :)

Apparently I didn't set it for the pdx.zip
